Synopsis:

Hanamichi Sakuragi, an entering Shohoku high school freshman, holds a record for being rejected by 50 girls during middle school. His height is nearly 2 meters and his bright red hair causes most students to write him off as a delinquent. One day, a girl named Haruko Akagi approaches Hanamichi without any fear. When she asks Hanamichi "do you like basketball?" Hanamichi falls head over heels for the girl of his dreams. Without missing a beat, Hanamichi tells her he loves basketball, and the two head to the gymnasium where Hanamichi learns about the slam dunk. He also learns of Kaede Rukawa, one of the country's top basketball prospects, is also a freshman at Shohoku.

Our View:

Yay Slam Dunk! An anime that we pretty sure everyone who has ever watched it love it! The story is about Hanamichi, a delinquent who eventually plays basketball to capture the heart of Haruko, a girl in his school, who is also hi captain's younger sister. However, he no experience whatsoever in basketball depite self-proclaiming to be a genius. Kaede Rukawa is another freshman who joined the Shohoku men's basketball team and is seen by Hanamichi as his rival despite him being a far better and skilled player than Hanamichi is. Watch as the story of a man with a mission to impress the girl that he likes turns into a story of passion in sports - basketball, to be exact. A must-see story for everyone who watches animes out there!

Trivia:

• Hanamichi Sakuragi's character is based on the NBA player Dennis Rodman who is an expert in rebounding and hussle plays.
• Kaede Rukawa's character is based on the NBA legend Michael Jordan,they both have black elbow pads on their left arm.
• Hisashi Mitsui's towel has "Adadis" written on it. Adadis is the parody of the brand "Adidas".
