Maid Sama!

For our next post, we will be posting about an anime that has caught the hearts of teens that has watched it on Animax. Although it was already popular on that channel, my attention (Syibrie) was only caught when my sister kept bragging about it at home. Well, here goes...

Synopsis:
Misaki Ayuzawa is the first female student council president at a once-all-boys-turned-co-ed school, Seika High School. She rules the school with a strict discipline demeanor, despised by many of the male students but seen as the "Knight in Shining Armor" by the female students, but she has a secret: she works at a maid cafe due to her coming from a poor family. One day, the popular A-student and notorious heart-breaker Takumi Usui finds out her secret when they accidentally met behind the cafe and thus makes a deal with her to keep it a secret from the school in exchange for spending some time with him.

Our view:

Lets see - a story about a hardworking yet intimidating Student Council President who happens to be a female in a male dominant school that recently has only started accepting girls too; on the other hand a handsome and "pretty" boy who is know to always break every girls' heart that confesses to him. Again, a great anime that portrays two totally different people from totally different worlds who meet by accident in the back of the Maid Cafe where our main protagonist Misaki the Council President works; and who else would meet her there other than Usui, the coolest boy in her high school. Follow these two through their adventures as Usui tries to capture the heart of Misaki and although she has fallen into his charms numerous times, her strong attitude keeps it at bay, which makes Usui more interested in her, evento the extent of putting his life in danger. Well, to know about them, grab some popcorn and watch as their paths collide :)

Usui always spontaneously blurts out inappropriate things to tease Misaki and unknowingly, Misaki eventually falls for Usui, which is something that she keeps on denying all the time.

Usui's annoying attitude and oblivious teases often gets Misaki on her nerves, which is something that Usui loves to do :D

Although Misaki has been cold towards him most of the time, but Usui never lets Misaki get hurt or into trouble easily as he's always nearby to save her.

Trivia:

  • Episode 9 is a parody of a well-known Japanese tale called "The Island of the Ogres". It's about an old woman and man who find a giant peach flowing down a river one day and when they cut it open, they find a baby. They call the baby Momotaro (Little Peach Boy). Momotaro then grows up and goes on an adventure and meets several friends on the way.
  • Notice how the poster's eyes are moving at around 15:25 in episode 5
  • In episode 9,there seem to be a parody of Pokemon:Rescue Team games.
  • In episode 11, in about 5:22, notice the the two kids who look like the younger versions of Misaki and Suzuna. Also their another younger versions can also be spotted in episode 26 in about 4:19.
  • In episode 24, about 10:45 in, an excerpt from Misaki's image song "Be Myself" plays
